While looking to buy a Lotus Super 7 kit I discovered Ron Champion’s most excellent book. I haven’t slept well since. Stunning performance, great looks, power to weight ratios off the scale. I had to have one!! I spent countless hours searching the web for any and all the information I could find on the Locost. I read through countless build diaries, awesome web pages and sent and received dozens of emails from builders around the world. I was challenged by the many stories of others that were two years in and still not driving. Many builders want a hobby; I wanted a car, now, not in two or three years. If you are anything like me, the thought of driving 100 mph in something you welded yourself on weekends over a long period of time is not confidence inspiring. I have an extensive background as a consultant in telecommunications, serving industry with system solutions. The most important thing I have learned is to have a great team. When my family came to Canada in 1995, my father continued to do what he was good at: designing and manufacturing of customized machinery. The legend lives on in Holland, and still has calls coming across the planet. Past clients know when a creative solution is required the John DeBoer will come through. By working side by side with him I have also developed his passion to create. Throughout my life I have been subjected to an amazing amount of knowledge concerning equipment mechanics, and how things work. Everyday is a new adventure. A giant composter, electrical vehicle conversions, production machinery and many other unique projects have found their origin in the mind of my father. I have been involved in the production stage of many of those projects and have acquired many practical skills in the process. There is no greater sense of accomplishment then to take something from my mind, or a drafting board, to reality. I am very proud of my heritage of quality workmanship and ingenuity, and will carry the family tradition to this new enterprise.

I found inspiration from the success stories shared by these builders, usually based on the original McSorley +4 and +442 chassis plans downloaded from my website. These plans were based on just a few small changes to the design that fueled the Locost phenomena…. But with Sevenesque Designs, that’s all about to change. Sevenesque Designs is proud to offer a series of new chassis designs that have never been seen before. The chassis can be built for just about any size and shape that you can think of… providing the ultimate in design flexibility by supporting almost any live axle donor. In addition, many of the complicated and strength bearing parts of the front suspension can be purchased straight out of existing race car catalogs. In partnership with Canadian Online Locost Distributors, a Sevenesque design can be fabricated to any level of completion that you desire, based on nearly any donor parts that you specify. By merging the quality of fabrication provided by the shops at COLD along with bolt-on suspension and improved overall geometry; a Sevenesque design keeps the costs low and gets you on the race track in record time.
